 Welcome to Riddick Driving School, LLC 

Riddick Driving School is owned and operated by Cathy Riddick. Cathy has been a certified behind the wheel instructor for over seventeen years and teaches the classroom content of driver education in the Isle of Wight County Public Schools.

 She established Riddick Driving School in 2011. She possesses a commercial driver's license with the school bus endorsement and is a 1997 graduate of Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with an endorsement in Fitness Management. 

Mrs. Riddick served as the Varsity Softball coach at Smithfield High from 2002 - 2024.  She was named the Smithfield High School Teacher of the Year for the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Riddick Driving School provides Behind the Wheel training for teens  that are trying to meet the DMV requirement for obtaining a Virginia Driver's License.

We pick up and drop off students at no additional charge. In order to take behind the wheel, if you are under the age of 18, you must complete a 36 hour state-approved driver education program and possess your Virginia learner's permit. In addition, students must have 45 hours of supervised driving with a parent/guardian, of which 15 hours must be after sunset.   If you are 18 years of age or older, behind the wheel is not required. 

Upon registering for behind the wheel, students will need to provide the following: *a valid Virginia learner's permit *a certificate of driver education course completion (Green Card) *Payment, in the form of cash, check, Venmo or Zelle,  is expected on the second day of behind the wheel.  The fee is $300.00.
